| JKAPPF, JSM (P) joins hands for common cause | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 12- Rejecting the petty communal politics and work for promoting communal harmony and secular ethos and unity of people to bring about a better understanding amongst them, the newly formed Jammu and Kashmir All Parties Peoples Front JKAPPF) led by Muzaffar Shah and Jammu State Morcha Progressive led by Prof Virender Gupta today joined hands for the common cause. A meeting to this effect was held between the members of Jammu and Kashmir All Parties Peoples Front (JKAPPF) and Jammu State Morcha (P) here today. The delegation of JKAPF comprised its Chairman Muzaffar Shah Abdul Gani Naseem Sanjay Saraf and other members whilst the JSM (P) delegation comprised its President Prof Varinder Gupta, H.B. Khajuria, Capt. Anil Gour, Digvijay Singh, Chandra Udey Sharma, M.M. Munshi and other members. The meeting held in a very friendly and cordial atmosphere discussed the aims and objectives of the JKAPPF and invited JSM (P) to join as an active constituent of the JKAPPF. While appreciating the initiative taken by JKAPPF it was decided that the decision of JSM (P) to join the JKAPPF would be put forth and discussed in the Executive Body of JSM (P) shortly. However, there was unanimity to work together to remove the sufferings and for the betterment of the common people of the state. It was also decided that both the JKAPPF & JSM (P) will together fight against the discrimination and alienation and for the removal of the grievances of the people of different regions and sub regions of the J&K State. It will be ensured that there is an equitable development of all the regions of the state. Both the parties rejected the petty communal politics and will work towards promoting communal harmony and secular ethos and unity of people to bring about a better understanding amongst them. Combined efforts will also be made towards restoration of true democratic traditions in all institutions along with the revival of Panchayat Raj. The holding of Panchayat Elections and formation of District Development Councils and decentralization of powers up to District, Block and Panchayat level will also be fought for together. Both the parties agreed upon exploring the possibility of fielding of joint consensus candidate for the coming elections. The meeting ended with a great deal of understanding amongst both the parties with a resolve to work together to ensure the up-liftment of the common man of the state.
