| Rajwansheer station renamed as Mazhom | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 12: The Rajwansheer Railway Station in Budgam has been renamed as Mazhom Railway Station after the name of the village of its location. The Chief Minister had taken up the matter with the Central Government saying that there was no village in Kashmir with the name of Rajwansheer. He had requested the Centre to rename the Railway Station as Mazhom Railway Station as it is located in the village of the same name. Following the Chief Minister's intervention, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in a letter has intimated to the State Government its no objection to change the name of the Rajwansheer railway station on Qazigund-Baramulla railway line in J&K. The letter signed by Mr. Neeraj Kansal, Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, "requests the State Government to issue the required gazette notification spelling the name accordingly in Urdu/Devnagri/Hindi and English languages", following the clearance by the Surveyor General of India who has communicated that the name of the village where the railway station is located is Mazhom and not Rajwansheer.
