| RS polls today | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 12: The Capital City today remained a hub of hot political activities as crucial election to fill up two seats of the Rajya Sabha is being held tomorrow. National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and his senior party colleague Mohammad Shafi are among four candidates in the fray. Other two candidates are Syed Altaf Hussain Bukhari of the Peoples Democratic Party and Advocate Ashok Vijay Gupta of the Bhartiya Janta Party. Ahead of the elections a meeting of the coalition legislators was held over dinner at a hotel here this evening which was also attended by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Congress leaders Saifuddin Soz and Ghulam Nabi Azad. According to a notification issued by the Returning Officer for the biennial election to the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) by the elected Members of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the poll to fill the two seats in the Council of States on the retirement of two members on November 29, 2008 will be taken on February 13, 2009 from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. in the Central Hall of the legislature Complex, Jammu.
