Jammu, Feb 13- The Government has accorded sanction for prosecution Sami-Ullah Naik son of Syed Ullah Naik resident of Khund Hajipura Kulgam, the then Assistant Engineer Rural Engineering Wing block Kakapora, for commission of offence punishable under J&K PC Act 2006 r/w section 161 RPC.
Ghulam Mohammed Mir contractor filed a written complaint in the state Vigilance Organization on April 7, 2008 alleging therein that he was allotted work relating to lanes drains and culvert at Kanjipora in block Kakapora and Rs one lakh was sanctioned from constituency Development Fund for the work. It was further alleged by the complainant that he approached the then AE Sami Ullah Naik for release of payment for the executed work who demanded Rs 4000 as bribe.
The Vigilance organization on receipt of said complaint registered a case under FIR No 13/2008 on April 7 and 2008 constituted a trap team. The team laid a trap and recovered the bribe money which was kept with one Mohammed Yusuf Bhat the helper.
The accused Sami-Ullah Naik was tested positive in the course of trap laid on April 7, 2008. The Government after considering the record and evidence collected by the Vigilance Organization accorded sanction for the prosecution of the accused AE u/s 5 (1) (d) r/w section5 (2) PC Act 200
