DEO flags off Electronic Voting Machine Demonstration Van to educate voters

KATHUA, Dec 15: District Election Officer Kathua, Rakesh Minhas, ceremoniously flagged off the van from the DC Office Complex today, marking the commencement of a comprehensive educational initiative aimed at enhancing voter awareness and confidence in the electoral process.
This mobile van initiative is set to traverse all 701 polling stations across the parliamentary constituency in the next two and a half months. The primary objective is to educate voters about the intricacies of EVM functionality, with the ultimate goal of instilling trust and dispelling any uncertainties related to the election process.
Highlighting the significance of this initiative, the District Election Officer, emphasized the importance of citizens’ understanding of the voting process. He urged individuals, especially those reaching the voting age of 18, to actively engage in this educational opportunity. The initiative aims not only to familiarize voters with EVMs but also to reinforce faith in the country’s electoral system.
The DEO further underscored the importance of voter turnout and civic engagement. Stressing on robust participation in the forthcoming elections, he emphasized the pivotal role citizens play in the electoral process. He urged registered voters to actively participate and exercise their democratic right, underscoring the profound impact of citizen involvement on shaping the nation’s future.
Additionally, to ensure comprehensive understanding, the DEO announced the provision of special sessions aimed at aged voters. These sessions intend to facilitate a better understanding of EVM functionality, ensuring that every eligible voter feels confident and informed when exercising their franchise.
The launch of the EVM Demonstration Van heralds a proactive step towards fostering an informed electorate, preparing them for the upcoming elections.
