| DODA DISCONNECT | | Enough commodities available: Govt | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 13 – To keep adequate stock of food grains and other essential commodities in Doda and Kishtwar districts, due to snapping of road connectivity at Assar on Batote- Kishtwar national highway, the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CA&PD) has supplied large quantity of foodgrains included 4961 quintals of wheat, 5464 quintals of rice and 3799 quintals of atta for Doda district and 11106 quintals of wheat, 10385 quintals of rice and 433 quintals of atta for Kishtwar district. Director CA&PD has informed that the department is making concerted efforts to ensure availability of essential commodities in twin districts. He said that to further augment supplies by transshipment of foodgrains/ LPG at Assar, 26 quintals of atta and 390 LPG cylinders through ponies have been transshipped to Doda and 8000 litres of K.oil is distributed to locals at Assar at the scale of 5 litres per family. He said that government has also made arrangements for airlifting petroleum and diesel products besides foodgrains to Doda, Kishtwar and Bhaderwah. He informed that further augmentation of supplies to the districts is in process. The supply shall also be rushed on opening of road from Bani side.
