Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 17: In the wake of the Supreme Court's endorsement of the central government's decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, transforming it into a union territory, senior social activist Sukesh C. Khajuria is calling for transparency on alleged anti-national activities by state politicians. Khajuria's fervent plea seeks a comprehensive white paper exposing actions that may have contributed to the misuse of public funds and the loss of innocent lives.
While the BJP government celebrates the abrogation of Article 370, touting it as a solution to separatist tendencies, Khajuria contends that the identification of individuals involved in anti-national actions is equally crucial. He underscores the necessity for transparency and accountability, demanding a detailed white paper outlining the activities of politicians over the past seventy years.
Khajuria dismisses mere rhetoric about nationalism as insufficient and advocates for a truth and reconciliation approach. Aligning with the Supreme Court's suggestion, he urges the government to unveil the truth about Jammu and Kashmir. Khajuria stresses the citizens' right to know, calling for a comprehensive expose of alleged anti-national activities and corruption by J&K leaders, whether state or non-state actors.
Apart from his current advocacy for transparency in J&K, Sukesh C. Khajuria is notable for his involvement in various social causes. He has previously championed the cause of victims affected by spurious cough syrup in J&K and other northern states. Currently, he is actively pursuing legal action against former J&K Chief Minister and Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Dr. Farooq Abdullah. The legal action is centered around allegations of seditious speeches, with Khajuria seeking constitutional accountability.
Sukesh C. Khajuria's call for transparency and accountability adds a significant voice to the ongoing discourse surrounding the complex political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, post the revocation of Article 370.
