Jammu, September 20 : Family friends and close relatives bid tearful adieu to Rajinder Bhushan Chopra along with his wife Madhu Chopra and daughter Saloni as his two sons Rohit and Punit lit funeral pyre here at Jogi gate crematorium amidst chanting of hymns, three days after they were brutally murdered by unidentified assailants along with their domestic servant and driver on Sunday night.
Large number of people which included traders, class mates of Saloni attended the funeral procession and paid their last respects with sobbing eyes.
Residents of posh Trikuta Nagar colony observed complete shut down for second say in succession in protest against the gruesome murder and joined Chopra family in paying their tributes.
Earlier, sons of Rajinder Chopra, studying in Australia, arrived here in the morning and wept inconsolably after seeing dead bodies of their parents and loving sister. The brothers went in to shock on hearing the news of murder of their parents and sister in cold blood. Crestfallen, both the brothers sat near the dead bodies for long time before funeral procession started from their Shanti Kutir residence in Trikuta Nagar.
Police officers investigating the blind murder case are desperately searching for clues after the recovery of the Alto car in which assailants fled after committing the crime and were expected to interrogate few business partners of Mr Chopra and other businessmen |
