| Painting competition at Kala Kendra today | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 14: The Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums, Jammu in collaboration with National Museum, New Delhi is organizing on the spot Painting Competition at Kala Kendra on Sunday, 15th Feb. at 10 a.m. More than 1000 students (class IV to college level) drawn from different school and colleges of Jammu are likely to participate. The students will be drawing paintings under the theme Indian Heritage with special reference to state of Jammu and Kashmir. Drawing sheets will be provided to the students by the department whereas students will be required to bring their own drawing board and colour media of their choice. The prizes to the winners will be distributed at 4 p.m. by Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora. On 16th Feb a month long photographic exhibition of Mughal and Dacceni Paintings belonging to 16th to 19 century A.D. from the collection of the National Museums, will also be inaugurated by Nawang Rigzin Jora. Mughal & Dacceni Paintings are endowed with classical touch, a rich style and poetic imagination. |
