2-year old among 10 killed, 28 injured in road mishaps

Jammu, Feb 14: At least ten persons have been killed and 28 others were injured in separate road mishaps at different places in Jammu division and its outskirts since last night.
In a road mishap four persons were killed and five other were injured when a Bolero car bearing registration No. 2023/JK06 in which they were travelling skidded off the road and rolled down at Drub Shalla under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kishtwar this morning. The ill fated vehicle was on its way from Kishtwar to Doda when the mishap occurred. On receipt of the information local police rushed on the spot and started the rescue operation. Upon the hectic efforts made by Police, all occupants of the vehicle were evacuated and shifted to hospital where five persons have been declared as brought dead. The deceased have been identified as Gh.Hussain (40 yrs.) s/o Atta Mohd r/o Thakarai Kishtwar, Ajaz Ahmed Kunda r/o Kunda Mohalla Kishtwar,Kuldeep Singh s/o Saroop Bhatyal r/o Matta Kishtwar, Halima w/o Ajaz Bhat r/o Bhati Mohalla Doda. The injured namely Narinder Dev Singh s/o Sher Singh r/o Jangalwar ,Kishtwar, Hans Raj s/o Paras Ram , Mool Raj s/o Amar Nath r/o Tantna , Sgct Jugal Kishore s/o Faqir Chand r/o Hadyal Kishtwar and Ravi Bushan s/o Hans Raj r/o Matta Kishtwar have been airlifted and admitted in GMC Jammu for specialized treatment .
In another road mishap one teenaged boy died on the spot and two others suffered injuries when a motor cycle bearing registration No.3084/JK02S and an Alto Car bearing registration No. PB02Y/6129 met with an accident at Pattali Morh NHW of district Samba this afternoon . Both the vehicles were on way from Vijaypur to Bari-Brahmna when the mishap occurred. The deceased has been identified as Farman Ali s/o Noor Hussain r/o Sukhani Talab , while as the injured persons namely Gian Chand s/o Ruldu Ram r/o Jallandhar and Ali Mohd s/o Nazir Hussain r/o Sukhani Talab have been shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment . Case to this effect stands registered in PS Bari-Brahmana
Yet in one more road mishap three persons including a minor child died on spot and six others were injured when a Tata Sumo bearing registration No. 9725/JK03A in which they were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar skidded off the road and rolled down about 200 feet at Dramthal Pully under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani late last night. On receipt of the information local police rushed on the spot and evacuated the occupants of the vehicle and shifted them to hospital where three of them have been declared as brought dead , while as injured have been hospitalized . The deceased have been identified as Farooq Ahmed s/o Ab. Rehman r/o Laggapura district Kulgam ,Mohd Iqbal Malik s/o Ab.Rehman r/o Laddipura Kulgam and three years child. Moreover, One driver of a truck bearing registration No. JK02G-0457 was killed when he was hit by an unknown vehicle at Shetani Nallah under the jurisdiction of Police Station Banihal late last night.
The said driver after parked the driven truck was hit by a speeding vehicle while he was crossing the road and suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital where later he succumbed to his injuries later. Police have taken cognizance.
However, one person namely Ajay Sharma s/o Subash Chander r/o Pangali (Khour) who was admitted in GMC Jammu on 13-02-2009 after sustaining injuries in a road msiahp when his motorcycle was hit by a truck at Vijaypur Gura Morh , succumbed his injuries today.
Meanwhile, fifteen passengers (Bharati’s) suffered injuries when a Matador bearing registration No. JK-14A/1428 carrying Barat from Dhanai to Patyari met with an accident at Patyari under the jurisdiction of PS Ramnagar of Udhampur district this afternoon. The injured have been shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for treatment.
