| Police seized Anganwari Ration at Chatroo | | | Early Times Report
Doda, Feb 15: Taking cognizance of public’s complaint against the Anganwari centers of manipulating students enroll and food distribution police today seized the ration meant for Anganwari Centres at Chingam, Chatroo where it was being sold in the market. There are reports that the Anganwari Centers in District Kishtwar remained closed in actual, but in papers the centers have been shown functional through the winter season. It is pertinent to mention that all schools are closed for winter vacation than how these centers should remain open even without any heating arrangements. Moreover the students which were shown enrolled in these centers are also enrolled in school attendance registers and ration meant for these children is not being properly distributed among them. Their ration is mutually embezzled by the Anganwari Workers and helpers of which their officers are well aware. In this connection when District Social Welfare Officer Kishtwar was contacted said that he has received un official reports regarding the matter as he was just arrived here after attending the meeting with Commissioner at Jammu. He further said that apart from police action department will enquire the matter and action will be taken against the culprits. Although the District Police confirm seizure of ration, but divulge from giving the detail to this effect. Moreover people have raised eyebrows against the claims of the Department regarding functioning of Anganwari Centers at Kishtwar during winter season seems to be fake as there is chilling cold of having minus temperature in high altitudes like Marwah, Paddar, Warwan etc.
