RS PURA, Dec 23: Government Degree College (GDC) R. S. Pura organized a spirited Sports Event under the umbrella of "Viksit Bharat@2047 Abhiyan," showcasing the commitment to youth engagement and sportsmanship. The event, coordinated by the Department of Dogri, NCC, and the Physical Education and Sports department, aimed to foster a spirit of healthy competition and identify local sporting talent.
The sports event featured a variety of dynamic activities, with pushups and ouching taking center stage, demonstrating the athletic prowess and teamwork of the participants. These sporting platforms served not only to encourage camaraderie but also instilled values of sportsmanship and promoted a healthy lifestyle among the college students.
Dr. Rajni Bhagat, the esteemed Principal of GDC R.S. Pura, expressed her gratitude to all participants and staff members for their enthusiastic involvement, emphasizing the importance of sports activities for youth. She highlighted the role of sports in reducing stress, enhancing mood, keeping youngsters away from anti-social activities, and promoting overall physical and mental well-being.
The initiative also aimed at identifying and nurturing local talent, providing a pathway for potential future athletes. Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, Nodal Officer Viksit Bharat, and Dr. Rakesh Choudhary, ANO NCC Boys wing, Dr. Shaveta Choudhary ANO, NCC Girls wing, and Ms. Kajal Premi, PTI of the college, played crucial roles in coordinating the event.
The presence of Prof. B. B. Anand, Principal GDC Sidhra, added an extra layer of significance to the event, highlighting the collective commitment to promoting sports at the grassroots level.
