| Jagran organizes 'eye camp' at GGHSS Bakshi Nagar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, FEB 15: With the objective to create an awareness among the people about 'eye problems' and the need to take precautionary measures against such important health issues, an Eye Check-Up camp was organized by Dainik Jagran in assistance with Eye department of Government Medical College, here today.
Dainik Jagran, which is the largest-read newspaper in the world, organized this camp under its programme of Corporate Social Responsibility. The Dainik Jagran has seven concerns for a prosperous society which are well known as its "Saat Sarokar". Health sector which is one of its main concerns (Sarokars) and is very important in today's world, was taken up by the Dainik Jagran today as part of its eye camp. The camp was held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bakhi Nagar. The camp evoked positive response from the local population. Over 200 people turned up for their eye check up and were thoroughly checked by Dr Ashok Sharma and Dr Pallavi, who were assisted by Ashok Saini and Sanjeev Kohli. A total of 13 people were asked to get operated in GMC. Doctors assured them of full medical assistance for their operation. Free medicines were also provided to some of the people on the directions of doctors. A large number of people who turned up at the camp appreciated the efforts of group towards society and also in raising awareness about common problems of eyesight which can cost heavily if not attended in time. Corporator Surinder Singh Shingari praised the efforts of Dainik Jagran in this regard and assured full assistance in its further health programme. He thanked the doctors for attending the camp.
