| Coalition Govt. responsible for discrimination with Jammuties | | | Sarita Jamwal Udhampur Feb 15- PDP District president Sukh Dev Sharma said that newly set up state coalition government was responsible for discrimination with Jammu region. Addressing a press conference here he alleged that the Congress and the National Conference encouraged discrimination against Jammu, example of which is recent representation in Rajya Sabha from Jammu region and also representation of ministers in state cabinet from Jammu. He added that National Conference and Congress were advocating for justice with Jammuties before elections and asked where are these commitments now? He added that these parties only raised hollow slogans of providing equal treatment to the people of Jammu and Ladakh. He pointed out that Congress and NC also caused damage to the social fabric in the state and exploited people. Both the coalition partners had repeatedly promised to implement the recommendations of the 6th pay commission as one of the first acts of the new Government. "The NC had even promised to issue orders to that effect in the first Cabinet meeting after the elections," he said and asked the government to implement the same without any further delay as the employees are facing difficult times like other sections of the society. Launching a scathing attack on NC leaders, he said that National Conference launched ‘Quit Jammu movement’ against Dogras in 1949 and its leadership humiliated the Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh and forced him to quit Kashmir. Congress was also part of that conspiracy. It was NC government in 1961 which refused to lower state flag half- mast as a mark of respect to the Maharaja Hari Singh on his death. It was again NC which forced the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and encouraged militancy. He assured that PDP will project their cause in right perspective and provide them justice.
