| PNB flags-off inmates of 'Apna Ghar' to all India educational tour | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 15- With its initiative to reach out to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the country’s leading nationalized Bank, Punjab National Bank, today provided a helping hand to the destitute section of the society by flagging-off inmates of 'APNA GHAR', a home for orphans and helpless children of Beerwah, Kashmir to an all India educational tour. R C Kaul, Deputy General Manager, of the bank J&K Circle, flagged-off 40 children of Apna Ghar which is being run by Kashmir Welfare Centre, a voluntary social organization. Speaking on the occasion, Kaul said that apart from reaching out to the door steps of the people and providing them a hassle free services, the Bank can not overlook its role in helping the needy sections of the society, especially the destitute people. He added that children are the future of our country and they should be properly nurtured. By the experience of such all India educational tours, the children from our state can see themselves the rich culture, tradition, historical places and unity in diversity of the country. He further said that in the past too, PNB has played an philanthropic role in lending a helping hand to various sections of the society like at Old Age Home, Amphalla, adoption of village at Shamachak for its complete overall development, providing ceiling fans to Government middle school, Babliyana Jammu and computer sets to NGOs. Hamidulah Hamid, Chairman Kashmir Welfare Centre who is running 'APNA GHAR' at Beerwah, Kashmir thanked PNB for its initiative. He said that the organization is running without any grant from government and has to depend on the sponsors and the aid from private sectors. B L Jain, Assistant General Manager and Dr. B M Padha, Chief Manager PNB circle Office Jammu, managers and staff were present at the occasion.
