DDC reviews implementation of Jal Shakti Abhiyan-Catch the Rain

RAJOURI, Dec 26: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, on Tuesday chaired a pivotal meeting aimed at scrutinizing the strides made in implementing the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain initiative within the district.
The DDC underscored the urgency of intensifying efforts towards water conservation and rainwater harvesting. He stressed for a proactive approach in implementing the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, stressing the importance of meticulous planning to harness rainwater effectively and to institute robust water management practices. In elucidating his stance, he articulated, “Water conservation is not about inhibiting or curtailing water usage; rather, it is about optimizing its utilization efficiency.”
Emphasizing the pivotal role of community engagement in propelling the success of the campaign in the district, the DDC underscored the necessity of fostering awareness and actively involving the general public to inject momentum into the initiative.
In a bid to consolidate efforts across various departments, he implored stakeholders to collaborate seamlessly, channeling dedicated endeavors towards conserving and safeguarding water resources for both current and future generations.
Moreover, he directed concerned officers to expedite the geo-tagging process for all water bodies in the district, underscoring the importance of accurate data in steering effective conservation strategies.
In this comprehensive and impassioned meeting, the DDC championed a holistic approach, intertwining sustainable practices, community involvement, and inter-departmental collaboration to fortify the district’s commitment to water conservation under the ambit of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain.
The meeting was attended by DFO Nowshera, Sateyendra Maurya; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; ACP, Sheraz CAO, Sohan Singh; CHO, Madan Lal; EXEN Jal Shakti Rajouri, Ashwhini Sharma; DHO, Shafqat Khan and other concerned officers.
