RAJOURI, Dec 26: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal today flagged off a mega rally of students, fervently championing the cause of gender equality and saving girl child through the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme. The rally aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the girl child and underscore the significance of education in fostering a more equitable society.
The BBBP scheme, aptly translating to ‘Save the girl child, educate the girl child,’ stands as a testament to the commitment of the Indian Government to addressing gender discrimination and advancing women’s empowerment across the nation.
Deputy Commissioner highlighted the pivotal role in dismantling stereotypes and promoting a culture of inclusivity.
The DC emphasized the multifaceted objectives of the BBBP scheme, which extend beyond education to challenge ingrained gender biases.
The scheme seeks to catalyze a societal shift by fostering awareness about the inherent value of the girl child and promoting gender-neutral opportunities for growth and development.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner drew attention to the comprehensive approach of the scheme in improving the efficacy of welfare services for girls. By creating a supportive environment and dismantling systemic barriers, the BBBP initiative strives to ensure that every girl has access to education, healthcare, and opportunities for a brighter future.
The mega rally, comprised of enthusiastic students, echoed the collective call for societal transformation. The vibrant display of banners, slogans, and the palpable energy of the participants conveyed a unified commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable future for the girl child in Rajouri and beyond.
The Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme, fortified by events like these, emerges as a beacon of hope and progress, guiding the nation towards a future where every girl is empowered to realize her full potential.
Among the others, District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim; TSWO, Rahul Puri; officials of the Social Welfare Department were present on the occasion.
