Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Dec 27: In a compassionate effort to bring warmth to the lives of those in need, the NSS Unit of Government Degree College Akhnoor, under the banner of Viksit Bharat, has initiated a Winter Clothes Donation Drive. The drive, organized by Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, NSS Programme Officer, and executed under the able guidance of Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat, Principal of GDC Akhnoor, aims to provide winter essentials to the less fortunate members of the community.
The winter clothes donation drive is a testament to the college's commitment to social responsibility and community welfare. Recognizing the harsh realities faced by the underprivileged during the winter season, the NSS Unit encourages students and the local community to contribute generously to make a meaningful impact.
Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, NSS Programme Officer, expressed his enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, "This Winter Clothes Donation Drive is an opportunity for us to extend our hands of warmth to those who need it the most. It aligns with the NSS motto of 'Not Me, But You,' emphasizing the spirit of selfless service."
The event is a collaborative effort that embodies the spirit of Viksit Bharat, a platform that focuses on holistic development and social upliftment. Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat, Principal of GDC Akhnoor, highlighted the importance of such initiatives, stating, "As an educational institution, we believe in nurturing not only academic excellence but also fostering a sense of social responsibility. This winter drive is a step towards creating a more compassionate and caring society."
The Winter Clothes Donation Drive invites contributions of warm clothing items such as sweaters, jackets, blankets, and more. Donors are encouraged to drop off their contributions at designated collection points on the college campus.
