12/27/2023 10:27:41 PM
Early Times Report
KATHUA, Dec 27: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, JKNC, Jammu, today emphasized that only the National Conference has the mettle to give a formidable challenge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting at village Buthi in Jasrota Assembly Constituency here today, the senior NC leader highlighted the deep-rooted presence and the grassroots strength of the National Conference. "Our party is fundamentally cadre-based, with a strong foothold at the grassroots level across Jammu and Kashmir," he stated.
Gupta highlighted the sacrifices made by hundreds of party cadres for the welfare of the people, mentioning the significant historical contributions of the party's founder, Sheikh Abdullah, who endured several years of imprisonment for his beliefs and actions.
Earlier, Sham Narayan Mehta, District President of Kathua Rural, who organized today's meeting, briefed the senior party functionaries about the acute hardships faced by the residents, especially regarding the lack of basic amenities in the Kandi belt. In the meeting Sardar Randhir Singh Naib Sarpanch Lachipora joined National Conference.
The Provincial President expressed serious concerns over the challenges faced by the people residing in Kandi belt of district Kathua. He pointed out the stark lack of development in the area, with people desperately in need of basic amenities. He emphasized the poor condition of electricity, acute shortage drinking water, roads, streets, santitation, inadequate healthcare facilities, and the lack of doctors in health centers, illustrating the incumbent government's seriousness in addressing the needs of the people.
Raising the burning issues of common masses, Rattan Lal said that people residing in Kandi belts are facing numerous problems including unemployment but the BJP dispensation at the Centre and its proxy administration in J&K are doing nothing except rhetoric and showing dreams to the people with more and more promises made every day as if those sitting at helm will provide moon and stars to the people. He asserted that the people of J&K have now understood well that BJP leadership has expertise in befooling public and telling lies, therefore it is the time for one and all in the UT to extend wholehearted support to NC leadership in the upcoming polls to bail out people from the morass created by BJP Government at the Centre. Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary, JKNC, Jammu, stressed the urgent need to fortify the party in light of the current political landscape. He urged for a consolidated effort to strengthen the party's base and prepare for the forthcoming electoral battles.
In the meeting Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell and Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary Jammu also stressed the people of the area to strengthen hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to once again install a government which is people-centric and considerate towards the problems of the common man and not like BJP Government which is doing anything and everything for selected few in the country.
Among those who were present in the meeting include: Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Sham Kumar Mehra, Dharampaul Kundal, Karan Din Chopra, Arjeet Singh, Pardeep Singh, Janak Raj, Ashu Rajput, Manohar Lal, Prem Kumar, Amar Singh, Dr. Y.P Singh, Hari Singh, Pathania, Khajuria and others.
