Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 27: Exemplary courage and sacrifice of Sahibzades and Guru Gobind Singh ji's life and teachings would continue to guide the path of humanity for all times to come. People must rise above the narrow outlook of life and tread the path of humanism.
This was stated by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former deputy Chief Minister while participating in the Bhandara organized by Tankers Union of Jammu at Railway Yard here today. Ranjit Singh, President Tanker Union and Ranjod Singh Nalwa, President Minority Morcha, BJP, J&K, were also present.
Addressing the gathering, the senior BJP leader said that Prime Minister has taken the right step towards recognizing the sacrifice of the brave and righteous sons of Guru Gobind Singh. He said that the observance of Veer Baal Diwas on December 26 is a fitting tribute to the valour of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikh Community.
Kavinder said that observance of December 26 day as Veer Baal Diwas will give an opportunity to the people of the nation to go through the difficulties which the countrymen faced under the rule of invaders and how the nation was freed from the clutches of unprincipled and barbaric rulers by the most courageous of those times.
Kavinder said that this move should have been taken soon after the country attained the independence but the then governments never bothered to highlight the heroism and valour of the aboriginals and were interested in placating the foreign rulers for their vested interests. He said that the pragmatic move by the PM is a real tribute to the quest of Guru Gobind Singh and his entire family for justice and uprightness of the people of the country irrespective of their colour, caste and creed.
The former Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted the significant contribution of Sikh Community in nation building and establishing a just and equal society. He said that people across the sections of society must be told about our Guru's influence in transforming society and enriching social values
