Kishtwar police takes action against traffic violators: 65 vehicles challaned
12/28/2023 10:37:48 PM

Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Dec 28: In a proactive move, Kishtwar Police has taken strict action against traffic violators in Kishtwar town under the operation "3rd Eye Kishtwar." A total of 65 vehicles were challaned for various violations under the Motor Vehicle Act, including wrong parking, riding without a helmet, and overloading.
Under the guidance of SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal-JKPS, a dedicated team was constituted to conduct traffic challans. Utilizing technical aid, including CCTV surveillance, the team captured photographs and conducted videography to document instances of traffic rule violations. The number plate reading system helped identify the vehicles involved in the violations.
After identifying the owners of the vehicles and ascertaining their residential addresses, copies of the traffic rule violations along with photographs were sent to their residences. This innovative approach aims to ensure that violators are made aware of their offenses and serves as a deterrent against future violations.
The vehicles that were challaned include a variety of registration numbers from different states, such as JK, PB, HR, and others. The violations encompassed a range of traffic offenses, including wrong parking, overloading, and riding without a helmet.
This proactive measure by Kishtwar Police demonstrates their commitment to enforcing traffic rules and ensuring the safety of residents on the road. It also emphasizes the use of technology to enhance traffic management and maintain order on the streets.
