Principal PTTI inaugurates pre-promotion course for SDRF personnel

VIJAYPUR, Dec 28: In a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities and tactics of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, a 90-day Pre-Promotion Course commenced at PTTI Vijaypur for Police personnel from SDRF Battalions of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The inauguration ceremony, held on the 28th of December, was presided over by Shiv Kumar, IPS, Principal of PTTI Vijaypur.
The primary objective of the course is to equip participants with the latest tools and techniques, ensuring they remain adept in responding to emergencies and natural calamities. Shiv Kumar, during the inaugural function, inspected the parade of the participating trainees and witnessed their impressive march past.
Addressing the trainees, the Principal outlined the basic concepts of the course, emphasizing the importance of physical training, drill (with and without arms), weapon handling, and other routine indoor/outdoor activities as per the prescribed syllabus. He highlighted the crucial role of SDRF personnel in remaining prepared around the clock for immediate response to rescue operations during natural calamities.
Shiv Kumar underscored the necessity for SDRF personnel to stay updated with sophisticated rescue machinery and equipment. To facilitate effective learning, he mentioned that special live demonstrations by experts would be organized during the training period, enabling trainees to perform their field duties more efficiently.
Several dignitaries were present during the inaugural function, including Kuldeep Raj, DySP (Indoor/Tech), Kushwant Singh, Dy.SP (Admn.), Surinder Singh Singh (CDI), Inspr. Ram Lal (CLI), Inspr. Mulkh Raj, Inspr. Vivek Kalsotra, Inspr. Javed Hussain (RI), Inspr. Bhopinder Singh, Inspr. Himanshu Dutta, Inspr. Ashish Dharmat, and Inspr. Kapil Raina. The commencement of this Pre-Promotion Course signifies a commitment to ensuring the readiness and effectiveness of SDRF personnel in responding to emergencies.
