| Lashker's Doda serial blasts accused arrested | | | Jammu, Sept 21: Police on Wednesday arrested a top Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militant involved in serial blasts in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said.
During a raid, police nabbed the militant Javed Sofi from Doda town, the spokesman said.
Javed, who was operating in Doda district for the past six years, was involved in militancy-related activities including grenade blasts in Doda in which two persons were killed and 67 were injured in June-July this year, he said.
During questioning, Javed admitted to having collected 12 wireless sets from one Mohd Qasim, his associate in Doda serial grenade blasts, as first consignment and handed it over to LeT district commander Shabir Ahmed Itoo of Gundna (Doda), the spokesman said.
The second consignment he collected from Qasim included one satellite phone with antenna, 5 wireless sets, Rs 30,000 and handed over the same to let militants, he said adding Javed also collected 6 wireless sets from Qasim as third consignment and handed it over to militants in Koti (Doda) area.
Sofi collected 18 SIM cards from one Mohd Ashraf of Bhaderwah and handed them over to LeT district commander Shabir and Younis in a hideout about six months back, according to the spokesman.
