GDC Ramgarh, empowers students with three-day workshop

RAMGARH, Dec 30: In a bid to promote regional language proficiency and empower students with valuable skills, the Department of Punjabi at Government Degree College, Ramgarh, successfully organized a three-day workshop on "Computer Typing in Punjabi Language." Under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the workshop commenced on December 28 and concluded with the distribution of certificates to participating students.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra commended the efforts of Dr. Snobar, Head of the Department of Punjabi, for spearheading the initiative aimed at equipping students with the ability to type in Punjabi on computers. She emphasized the significance of such skill-based courses, citing their potential for personal growth and professional qualifications.
The workshop aimed to provide students with a valuable skill set in computer typing in Punjabi, fostering confidence and self-reliance. Principal Andotra highlighted the broader goal of the workshop, aligning with the vision of "Viksit Bharat @2047," by encouraging students to break free from colonial mindsets and contribute to the development of a self-sufficient India.
Dr. Snobar, in her introductory lecture, elucidated the relevance of acquiring typing skills in Punjabi. She underscored the career opportunities associated with this skill, including the potential for students to earn while learning. Dr. Snobar also emphasized the applicability of the skill in literary pursuits, such as writing poems, novels, articles, magazines, and academic theses in Punjabi.
Vikas Malmotra received special thanks for providing technical assistance during the workshop. The faculty members who actively participated in the event included Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Bram Dutt, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Priya Sharma, Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmed, Dr. Paramjeet Kour, Dr. Ekta Rani, Fayaz Ahmed, Sonali Dutta, Akansha, Anil Kumar, Ram Murti, and Sunil Kumar.
