| ReT teachers hold protest demonstration | | | Sarita Jamwal Udhampur Feb 16 -To press state government to fulfill its promises, hundreds of Rehber-e-Talim (ReT) teachers today took out a protest rally here. The protest demonstration started from the main Bhagat Singh chowk of Udhampur and passed through different areas and later culminated at Deputy Commissioner Office where it was addressed by all the leaders ReT Association Highlighting problems of ReT teachers, these leaders said the state government had promised to regularize all teachers who had completed five years of service. "A number of ReT teachers have completed the required tenure but they are yet to be regularized". They lambasted the authorities for playing with the future of the educated youth and demanded equal benefits to ReTs at par with regular teachers and release of there months pending salaries. The speakers said that ReT teachers played a dominant role in streamlining the functioning of the defunct schools in far-flung areas adding that a number of schools in rural areas were being run by the ReT teachers. They demanded all teachers who have completed five years of service should be regularized. They also demanded that five years of service should be included in the official record of the ReT teachers
