| RS election results insulted Jammu’s pride: Bhim | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16- Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman of JKNPP has described the very decision of ruling combination-National Conference and Congress to put up four Kashmiri Muslim candidates for the four seats of Rajya Sabha from J&K State, denying participation to Dogra Hindus as well Muslims, as an insult to the very pride of Jammu and also to the great heritage of Kashmiriat. The ruling combination has the history of betrayal and skullduggery by which these parties have always deprived the genuine rights of people of Kashmir and also justice to the people of other regions, namely, Jammu and Ladakh, he alleged. ‘Resorting to subversion of electoral process which is sacrosanct in any constitutional democracy, by issuance of three separate notifications for four seats of Rajya Sabha and then manipulating the contest and making the ratio of 25 : 25 votes for winning the contested seats, is not only illegal, immoral but also against the prevailing electoral laws of the country’, he said . He said even after Jammu and Kashmir is undergoing the greatest death and destruction phenomenon because of terrorist violence and all the developmental infrastructures is lying shattered, yet the ruling combination is resorting to anti-people political and other measures. The present skullduggery resorted by the ruling combine throws up fundamental political issues to be answered by the ruling party, to the suffering people of the state in general and that of Jammu province in particular, he added. Prof. Singh has posed several questions to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and hoped that he (Omar) would respond these positively and correctively.
