| Government not serious in implementation of NREGS: PDP | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb17- PDP General Secretary and MLA Nizam-ud-Din Bhat has urged upon the government to take all necessary measures for implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the state and systematize a summary of projects to be taken under the scheme during the next fiscal. In a statement issued here today, Bhat said that the state government has not set off financial monitoring which is obligatory before the closing of the current fiscal and that the government has not submitted the utilization certificate to the central government which was necessary to get the funds released for the next fiscal. "Though the central government in its vote on account has enhanced the scope of the scheme by increasing the allocations for its implementation but the state government seems in no mood to take benefit of the scheme for the development of the rural areas" Bhat said and added that it was in the interest of the state to take advantage of centrally sponsored schemes which were totally funded by the centre without burdening the state exchequer. PDP leader has asked the state government to take all necessary steps for the implementation of Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and stressed for proper implementation of the scheme in frontier districts of Kupwara and Bandipora
