| SSA contractual employees demand regularization | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 17- Jammu and Kashmir Contractual Employees Association, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (JKCEA-SSA) in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Mohammad Shafi Peer, President discussed various issues pertaining to the employees including regularization of contractual employees engaged under SSA. Besides, Ministerial and technical staff, more than 7000 youths were engaged as Educational Volunteers (EVs) for running the Education Guarantee Scheme (EGS) for the Centers established voluntarily by these youths for academic purpose, with the minimum qualification of 10+2. The Education Department converted these EGS Centers into Primary Schools and all the EVs were converted into Rehber-e-Taleem (ReT) The meeting observed that about 250 Ministerial/ Technical staff, who possessed the highest academic/ technical qualifications, besides having excellent technical know-how in their relevant fields and having faced the cut throat competition in the selection process, have been ignored and left unconsidered while securing the future of contractual employees (or Educational Volunteers) by the Government in Education Department. Besides, facing many hardships for getting selected for the different posts, these employees are the backbone for the Project by serving at central hubs of the Education Department and are leaving no stone unturned for giving their best in serving the Education Departments for more than five years. On the other hand, the future of the employees has been depressed by even crossing the upper age limit, though they serve the prime time of their age for the betterment of Department. During the meeting requested the Chief Minister to consider their genuine demand and order their regularization in Education or any other Government at the earliest. Arjun Singh, Vice President, Shahnawaz Khan, General Secretary and all District Presidents were present at the meeting.
