| Ex -BJP MLA Prithvi Chand resigns from BJP, joins PDP | | |

Udhampur Feb 17- With tears in his eyes, senior Bhartiya Janta Party leader and Ex MLA from Chenani, Prithvi Chand today quit BJP after forty years and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) here today along with his supporters in presence of District president PDP Sukh Dev Sharma.
Addressing press conference here today Ex- MLA Chenani Prithvi Chand said that it is not very easy to quit BJP after forty years .He had served the party with dedication and remained two times MLA from Chenani. He added that it is very painful for him that he is quitting party. He said there are several reasons of his quitting BJP party and joining the PDP but refused to divulge the reasons saying that he does not believe in counter allegation politics.
He said that he decided to join PDP as he felt that it was the only pro-people party and termed Mufti Mohammed Sayeed as a crusader of peace. He said it was high time to strengthen his hands for restoring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir..
