JAMMU, Jan 9: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikram Randhawa under Public Outreach Programme conducted tour of conducted tour of Bhour Kothey area of JMC Ward Number 73 of Jammu South RS Pura Assembly Segment.
Randhawa was accompanied by Vijay Sharma Mandal President, Inder Khajuria, Makhan Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Pushkar Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Narinder, Vinod and many others.
During the tour, Randhawa took first hand appraisal of the issues being faced by the people.
While interacting with the visiting leader, the people apprised him about the issues including dilapidated condition of roads and drains, damaged street lights, etc.
While speaking, Former Legislator, who was accompanied by the officials of the Jammu Municipal Corporation, flayed the Municipal authorities for ignoring the area (Ward Number 73).
Despite falling under the ambit of Jammu Municipal Corporation, the area is having no proper lanes and drains, street light and other basic amenities.
"The area has been ignored as no development works have been carried out in this area and for this, only JMC authorities are responsible", Randhawa said and asked the accompanying JMC officials to chalk out a plan and draft a proper estimate to carry out development works in this area as soon as possible.
"A detailed estimate of the development works will be made and very soon, the area will have all the basic amenities", Randhawa assured the people.
He also asked the people to identify the development needs of their area so that work can be enlisted for execution by the JMC.
Randhawa added that BJP Government led by PM Narendra Modi has done tremendous work to ensure that every section of the society gets its due share.
Former Legislator while referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Jammu and Kashmir said that while the economically marginalized segments of the society have been brought under Ayushman Bharat scheme as part of health for all across the country, it has been made applicable as Ayushman Sehat in the Union Territory with benefits of Rs 5 lakh medical cover to every family without any economic slab.
"Central Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come up with an inclusive agenda of development, growth, investment and creating opportunities for the youth--skilled, unskilled and educated. The initiatives put into action by the visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transform Jammu and Kashmir, irrespective of region, religion, caste or ethnicity", he said.
The BJP leader said that PM Modi gave special attention towards J&K with abrogation of Article 370 remaining the turning point for the region which has opened the floodgates of development and end of turmoil that lasted for over three decades under the meek dispensations of Congress and other parties.
"Gigantic Vaccination programme, fight against COVID, digital revolution, cashless transactions, etc are among umpteen other schemes and policies which the BJP regime have realized and helped India to become one of the developed countries across the world", Randhawa said, adding that the opportunity should be well utilized to disseminate all this among the masses to bring more people to party fold and strengthen party at grass roots level.
