| HS Upashak visiting Jammu on peace mission | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 17- Harmohinder Singh Bhatia (UPASHAK JI) from United Kingdom is arriving in Jammu and Kashmir on a 5-day visit during which he is scheduled to address series of Seminars, Spiritual congregations and interaction programs to propagate message “Peace not pieces” (let’s work for it)”, which is part of peace programs initiated by Saint Nirankari Mission for promotion of Love, Peace, Inter-faith harmony, Universalism and Peaceful-Coexistence. HS “Upashak” is General Secretary of Sant Nirankari Mandal, United Kingdom, and his outstanding record in his efforts to bring peace and harmony to the community was officially recognized, when he was awarded the active Community Award by the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown recently. He has also served as a member of the board of visitors at Winson Green Prison, meeting prisoners and helping with their problems. He was also instrumental in promotion of harmony within the Sand well area of the West Midlands by working in conjunction with the local authority and other interested agencies. He is also currently Sand wells Director of Race Equality having previously held posts with the Warley Race Relations Council and as Vice Chairman of Sand well Ethnic Minority Umbrella Forum. In J&K he will address peace programs at Kathua tomorrow, peace seminar in SMVDU Katra and Udhampur on February 19, spiritual congregation in Akhnoor on February 20 and in afternoon same day he will address a seminar at Abhinav Theater Jammu. On February 21 a multi-faith peace walk will be held at Jammu which will start from Mubarakh Mandi complex and conclude at Parade.
