Notoriious bovine smuggler arrested at Ghagwal

SAMBA, Jan 12: Samba Police today arrested notorious bovine smuggler "Subhan Ali" of Kathua at Ghagwal and also foiled yet another bovine smuggling attempt during early morning hours, rescued eleven (11) bovines & seized truck.
The notorious bovine smuggler has been identified as Subhan Ali s/o Shah Mohmmad r/o Juthana tehsil & district Kathua and was arrested in case FIR No. 121/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Ghagwal.
Moreover, alert Samba Police cops has foiled bovine smuggling attempt in consecutive day in the district and rescued eleven (11) bovine animals during vehicle checking at NHW Naka Tapyal, Ghagwal. A case FIR No. 3/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, a total of one hundred fifteen (115) notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in short span of time after the launch of special drive, ninety five (95) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, eighty three (83) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and eight hundred ninety seven (897) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
