| CCI reacts on report about seizure of combat dresses | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 18- While referring to the news item about the seizure of the combat dresses cloth and arrest of businessmen, Chamber of Commerce and Industry made it explicitly clear that the shopkeepers carrying on the business of said cloth have been dealing in this trade since decades and even during peak of militancy but not a single case of misappropriation or militants taking advantage of this business activity has been surfaced till date. It is to be mentioned that these dealers make supplies to army and para-military stores besides selling to serving army personnel, but it is always made sure that the said cloth is sold strictly as per the rules and norms of the scrupulous business by ensuring and authenticating the identity of the purchaser for which they maintain full records of each such sale. Chamber also feels highly concerned about the security of the nation and it is quite seized of the threat posed by the militant organization and Chamber is committed to extend full support in this regard. It may be noted that Wholesale Cloth Merchants Association has been supplying the full information and details of the genuine dealers to the concerned authorities for their record so that these dealers can be checked and verified by the authorities whenever they desire. Chamber appeals to the authorities, that the clear instructions should be passed on to the police authorities to take into account the above noted facts before registering the case against any firm dealing in such type of cloth.
