Reasi, Feb18- Principal Sessions Judge Reasi AK Koul today awarded life-imprisonment besides, 20 years’ imprisonment and fine to four brothers and sons of Rustam Khan of Mahore who were facing trial in a murder case. The accused Mohammed Maqbool, Sharief-ul-Din, Gayas-ul-Din and Mohammed Maqsood sons of Rustam Khan of Mahore are facing trial in committing murder of one Mohammed Rafiq and injuring his brother on December 3, 2000 on issue of water pipe. In his judgment, Principal Sessions Judge, after hearing Public Prosecutor MM Sharma appearing for the State and Advocate Chatha appearing for the accused, observed that on February 17, 2009, the accused having been found guilty of commission of offence u/s 302, 307, 449, 148 RPC and 7/27 Arms Act have been convicted for these offences. Today both the parties argued on the issue of sentence. Each of the accused is sentenced to imprisonment for life u/s 302 RPC and fine Rs 10,000 each. The accused are also sentenced to imprisonment for a period of seven years u/s 307 and also fine Rs 5000 each, the accused are further sentenced five years u/s 449 RPC and fine Rs 2000 each. The accused persons are also sentenced to undergo one year’s imprisonment and fine Rs 1000 each u/s 148 RPC besides seven years imprisonment with a fine of Rs.5, 000 each. However, all the sentences would run concurrently, the Judge ordered. JNF
