| Ration dealer gets bail | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb18- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu BL Bhat granted interim bail in favour of one Sumeet Behal, a ration depot holder of Nai Basti Jammu who surrendered before the Court. The Special Judge Anticorruption, after hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for applicant and Senior Prosecuting Officer for the Vigilance Organization Jammu, observed that petitioner’s admission of interim bail is made out and accordingly directed granted interim bail to the petitioner with some riders. The petitioner has been directed to furnish surety bond and personal bond to the tune of Rs 20,000 each, besides an undertaking to appear before the Investigation Officer at 10:00 AM. The petitioner has also been directed to seek further directions from the Investigating Officer for being associated with the investigation. In the bail application filed through Advocate Abhinav Sharma it has been alleged that subsidized ration has been drawn for the period between February 2004 to September 2006 and the petitioner was the depot holder of the newly established Nai Basti Jammu. According to the Vigilance Organization the subsidized Government ration was issued to 380 ineligible beneficiaries from depot No 297 on the basis of list not drawn up by JUDA as BPL/AAY beneficiaries resulting in an approximate loss of Rs 12 lakhs to the State exchequer.
