| Governor review facilities at Yatri Bhawan | | | Early Times Report Jammu, February 18- Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, visited Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar, here today and took stock of the facilities available in the complex for the visiting pilgrims. The Governor had a round of the entire complex and inspected, interalia, the extension counter of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited, Medical Aid Centre, Police Assistance Counter, Tourist Information Centre, Food Court and the main building of the Yatri Niwas. The details of the perspective plan of the Complex were presented before the Governor together with a briefing by the concerned authorities on the facilities already created for the Yatris in the complex and those in the pipeline. Later, interacting with the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and officers representing each of the various concerned Departments, the Governor enquired about the status of the basic facilities, particularly power, water supply, sanitation and sewerage system in the Complex. He emphasized that all the sanitation aspects, particularly sewerage and management of solid waste, needed to be accorded very high priority. He stressed the need for linking the septic system of the Complex with the main sewerage of the area, besides ensuring the availability of safe potable water. He observed that there is also an immediate need for creating a parking area for vehicles and space for each of the service providers. He suggested that the Administrative Block should be separated from the Joint Food Court and the Langer area should be separately demarcated, with the provision of a separate entry. Referring to the energy requirements of the Complex, the Governor said that solar panels should be installed to provide both peripheral lighting and electricity for the main Complex and also for providing hot water to the Yatris. It was decided that a meeting would be shortly convened by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, to work out solutions to pressing problems pertaining to the completion of the on-going works and creation of additional facilities in the complex, in a time-bound manner. The meeting, among others, was attended by the Principal Secretary to Governor and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr B B Vyas, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mr. K. Rajendra, Director Tourism, Jammu, Mr. S. M. Sahni and senior officers and engineers of various departments
