Ramban Police rescue 356 bovine animals under operation Kamdhenu

RAMBAN, Jan 16: Under the directions of SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma-IPS, Ramban Police acting tough against the bovine smugglers and curbing the bovine smuggling menace in the District Ramban, thirty five (35) different vehicles were intercepted by different Police parties during past 4 weeks. The vehicles bearing registration number 01/- HP11-4361, 2/- JK06B-2419, 3/- JK19A-2128, 4/- JK02AQ-7781, 5/- JK19A-2928, 6/- JK19A-5274, 7/- JK02CW-7564, 8/- JK19A-1076, 9/- JK14J-1411, 10/- JK14J-1617, 11/- JK02CE-3344, 12/- JK19A-2917, 13/- DLC3CBJ-6249, 14/- JK14J-8611 15/- JK19A-7806, 16/- JK18D-2877, 17/- JK19A-1178, 18/- JK02DF-0177 19/- JK18A-0195, 20/-JK02CK-7710, 21/- JK14J-4576, 22/-JK14H-8646, 23/-JK14J-5177, 24/- JK14D-4886, 25/- JK14J-1423, 26/-JK02AK-6210, 27/- JK14H-4487, 28/- JK03E-2115, 29/- JK02CS-2696, 30/-JK20A-1256, 31/-JK02CE-3344, 32/-JK02AW-0163, 33/- PB10JB-0792, 34/- JK19A-2256, 35/-MH46AF-4772, which were on their way from Jammu towards Srinagar. After checking all the above-mentioned vehicles, were found loaded with three hundred fifty-five (355) Bovine animals. These animals were kept with utmost cruelty under unhygienic conditions, without any arrangements for food and water. Besides these one bovine animal was being transported illegally towards Kashmir on foot, thus total 356 number of bovine animals were rescued by Ramban Police during last four weeks. The bovine animals were being transported to Kashmir valley without any valid permission of the competent authority. In this regard, Thirty Six (36) Cases have been got registered at Police Stations Batote, Chanderkote, Ramban, Ramsoo and Banihal and Thirty Six (36) accused persons were booked in these cases.
All the above-mentioned vehicles were seized and all the accused persons were arrested under relevant sections of law and investigations have been set into motion.
Ramban Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace. District Police Ramban seek support from People to share information about the bovine smuggling with Police for timely intervention for the cause.
