Range police headquarters organizes volleyball tournament to promote youth engagement

JAMMU, Jan 18: In a bid to foster positive engagement among the youth and strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community, Range Police Headquarters Jammu orchestrated a vibrant Volleyball tournament under the Civic Action Programme 2023-2024. The event, held at Sardar Bana Singh Stadium R.S.Pura in District Jammu, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of eight teams.
Under the leadership of Shakti Kumar Pathak-IPS, DIG JSK Range, and the overall supervision of Staff Officer to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP, the tournament showcased a display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The chief guest, Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS, DIG JSK Range, inaugurated the tournament, setting the stage for a series of exciting matches. A total of seven matches unfolded, with Team Govt. Hr. Sec School Chanduchak emerging victorious in the final against Team Govt. Model Boys Hr. Sec School RS Pura.
Addressing the media, DIG JKS Range expressed the primary motive behind organizing such tournaments, emphasizing the Jammu and Kashmir Police's commitment to diverting the youth away from negative influences, drugs, and undesirable company. The initiative aimed to channelize the energy of the youth in a positive direction while fostering a stronger connection between the police force and the community.
Prominent figures, including SDM RS Pura Smt. Seema Parihar, Principal Govt. Degree College RS Pura Dr. Rajni Bhagat, Municipal Chairman RS Pura Sh. Satpal @ Pappi, and other dignitaries, graced the occasion to encourage and commend the players. The efforts of the Jammu & Kashmir Police in organizing such an impactful tournament were widely appreciated.
The culmination of the event saw the distribution of cash prizes, trophies, and volleyball equipment to the winning and runner-up teams. Certificates were also awarded to all participants, and DIG Jammu Sh. Shakti Kumar Pathak IPS, along with other dignitaries, congratulated the teams for their commendable efforts.
The successful execution of the tournament was ensured by the presence of key personnel, including SDPO R.S.Pura Nikhil Gogna, SHO RS Pura Naveen Angral, ICPP Badyal Brahmna Sandeep. K.Raju, ICPP Chakroi Ishfaq Choudhary, and the dedicated team of CAP members from RPHQ Jammu.
The event served as a testament to the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in fostering a positive and healthy environment within the community, promoting sportsmanship, and steering the youth towards constructive endeavors.
