DGP Swain sanctions Rs 19 lakh meritorious scholarship

JAMMU, Jan 18: To boost the morale and instil competitiveness among the wards of Police personnel, the Director General of Police J&K Shri R.R. Swain has sanctioned scholarship of about rupees 19 lakh in favour of 374 wards of serving/retired/deceased police personnel respectively under different orders issued by Police Headquarters.
Vide an order, meritorious scholarship of rupees 17,42,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 344 wards of serving police personnel for securing 80% and above marks in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2022-23. Under this order, rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 183 wards for securing above 90% marks and rupees 4000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 131 wards for securing above 80% marks. In this list the top five meritorious wards are Tabasum Amin daughter of HC Mohammad Amin Bhat has secured 99.2% marks, Mohammad Fahd Mir son of Inspector Iftikhar Ahmad Mir has secured 99% marks, while Rabiya Mir daughter of HC Gh. Hassan, Nimreesa Nisar daughter of ASI(Tel) Nisar Ahmad and Numair Javaid Noori son of Inspector Javaid Ahmad Noori all three have secured 98.8% marks.
Vide another order, scholarship of rupees 1.3 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 26 wards of deceased Police personnel Among these wards rupees five thousand each has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Similarly, scholarship has also been sanctioned in favour of four wards of retired Police personnel. Under this order rupees 7200 has been sanctioned in favour of Sehdev Sharma who has secured above 90% marks in the annual examination of 12th class while rupees 6000 has been sanctioned in favour of Kifayat Rehman who has secured 90% marks in 10th class examination and rupees four thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of Rizwan Bashir and Faizan Hamid Rah for securing above 80% marks in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session of 2022-23.
The meritorious scholarship schemes of Jammu and Kashmir Police include scholarships for wards of serving/deceased/martyred Police personnel/SPOs for performing exceptionally in different examinations. Special reward is also given to the students who perform exceptionally in the college/universities and technical courses. Rewards are also given to the wards who crack competitive exams like UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET, CSIR etc
