PDP protest at Kishtwar against road blockade at Assar

KISHTWAR Feb 17:- Protest demonstration was held at District Headquarter Kishtwar by the activists of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and criticizes the Government and concerned authorities for their failure to check the traffic violation which result in day to day road accident in Kishtwar. They demanded adequate compensation to the next kin of the deceased as well as to the injured persons, beside against the negligent and erring officers of traffic department responsible for the road accidents.
While addressing the public, Senior PDP leader Shakir Hussain sidiqui lambasted at state government and District administration Kishtwar to come up to the expectation of the general public of Kishtwar, as the people of Kishtwar have been cut off from the rest of the state since last 12 days and according to him authorities of District as well as State Government seems to be non serious in solving the problems of general public of Kishtwar. PDP leader raised apprehension about feasibility and variability of Bani Bhaderwah road and it was suggested that instead of wasting energy on opening of Bani-Bhaderwah road, government should rather open Kishtwar-Sinthantop-Anantnag Road to provide essential commodities in the cut off areas. He said that from Batote to Pul Doda is entirely landslide prone area and according to geological expert, the lake has further loosened the soil that has caused sinking at many places and in coming days their will be more problem
in continuous connectivity to Kishtwar and Doda Districts. It was also demanded that proper supply of essential including LPG, Petrol, Diesel, Urea, Medicines should be made available to the public of Kishtwar.
PDP also demanded an inquiry against the Bhagliar Catchments Area Treatment Project and Chenab Basin as despite showing expenditure of crores, but nothing has been done on ground. It was also demanded that the banks of the river Chenab needed to be treated and concretized at vulnerable points to prevent seepage of water.
While expressing concern over increasing miseries of the residents of Kishtwar, PDP demands that Chopper service on reasonable fare should be started for the passengers so that stranded people should reach to their destination. It is further demanded that recommendations of 6th pay commission be implemented immediately and the pending wages of the daily wagers, SPOs and HR workers should be paid to them without further delay.
