| Late Amarnath Kaul’s 2 CD cassettes of Kashmiri Leelas released | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 19- Two CD cassettes bearing Kashmiri Leelas sung by late Amar Nath Kaul, a renowned Kashmiri singer, were released at a function organized to commemorate his first death anniversary here today. The CD’s were released by the Additional Secretary State Cultural Academy Savita Bakshi at a function organized by G L Koul, son of the deceased singer. C L Kothri and Shrada Anjli who were also present on the occasion paid rich tributes to late Kaul and described him as a noted singer of Kashmiri Leelas and Bhajans. Nissar Hussain Dolwal recited Kashmir poem on the occasion while Vijay Wali conducted the proceedings. The deceased Kaul a native of Lokbhawan Larkipora Anantnag was fond of music from his very childhood and took part in various activities during his schooling. The deceased had successfully passed the audition test in Doordarshan and took part in several cultural programs including the most popular one ‘Tarak Mal’(Chain of Stars) based on saint poetess Lal Ded’s Lal Wakh. The deceased also took part in programs like Kashmiri Chakries, Roufs and bhajans, besides contributing towards Kashmiri Leelas which are most liked by the Kashmiri Pandits, both within and outside the state, even after the painful migration of early 1990’s.
