| Training workshop on environment education commences | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 19- The 4-day training workshop on environmental education through nature camp commenced at Forest Information Centre here today. The workshop organized by the Students’ Welfare Society Anantnag is being supported by NSCTS, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The basic aim of organizing the workshop is to understand nature and to make people aware to preserve and protect the nature. The workshop would focus on different issues of flora and fauna. In this training workshop, activities would be based on practical understanding and explanation of different experiments by using local resources. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Irshad Ahmed Khan inaugurated the workshop. On this occasion, a group of students from SD Tara Puri high school presented a welcome song and a skit. Shabir Ahmed Shabir secretary of the organization in his welcome address said that the society would conduct such type of training shops in rural areas also to develop local resource persons for onward demonstration of the activities of different institutions. Others who spoke on the occasion included Dr. Shashi Ahuja Director NCSTC, Dr. Ashok Aima, Dr. Jasbir Singh NSS Coordinator University of Jammu, OP Sharma, Manoj Panth Conservators of Forest and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Ganie, senior lecturer. Sharmail Nabi resource person from Delhi conducted the technical session and chalked out the program for the next three days of the workshop.
