| Kathua DRDA plan pegged at Rs 18787 cr | | |

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 19-With a view to discuss the plan proposals under the annual Action plan, 2008-09 of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Kathua, District Development Commissioner, Ms. Mandeep Kaur today convened a meeting of members of DRDA`s Governing body at Kathua .
The Annual Action plan of Rs. 187.87 lakh was approved which includes 109 lakh as the administration part and Rs. 78.87 lakh as capital component.
MLA, Kathua, Mr. Charanjit Singh, MLA, Hiranagar, Mr. Durga Dass, MLA, Basohli, Mr. Jagdish Sapolia, MLAs, Bani, Mr. Lal Chand present in the meeting and discussed the provisions of the annual action plan,2008-09 under SGSY.
Ms. Mandeep Kaur after detailed discussion on each and every aspect of the proposed action plan with the political representatives approved the allocations of Rs.187.87 lakh including Rs. 78.87 lakh as capital component for carrying out varied activities under the guidelines of SGSY the plan for which stands vetted by the Director Rural development, Jammu. She stressed the need for involving more and more unemployed youth in the formation of Self Help Groups for carrying out economic activities under SGSY.
MLAs present on the occasion also exhorted upon the DRDA functionaries to explore the activities of such nature for which the raw material is available locally.
Under SGSY 20% funds are reserved for providing infrastructural support to cater the needs of Self Help groups and individual sawrojgaries. During the year, 2008-9 five number of work sheds for Sawrojgaries are proposed to be constructed, one each at Basohli, Bani, Lohai- Malhar , Duggan and Billawar CD blocks. Other contractual/ need based employees salaries for the year, 2008-9 was also approved in the governing body meeting.
