| JCO Trakroo sacrifices life while serving at Siachen Glacier | | |
JAMMU SEPT-20-
Dlip Trakroo Naib Subedar of Dogra Regiment, the son of the soil, sacrificed his life while serving in one of the world highest and coldest post Siachen Glacier.
Trakroo, a resident of Janipur, laid down his life on September 17 last and the mortal remains of the JCO were airlifted Chandigarh and then to Jammu via road under army arrangements. The mortal remains reached Jammu last evening and the deceased JCO was cremated today with full military honours at his native place by troops of the Tiger Division.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff and General Officer Commanding Tiger Division. The last rites of the martyr were attended by a large of Army personnel and public from Jammu.
