| CM seeks additional IAF sorties for buffer stocks | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 19 – In view of disruption in the road connectivity between Doda and Kishtwar districts and the rest of the State due to caving in of a road-stretch at Assar, the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah has taken up with the Union Defence Minister, Mr. A. K. Anthony, the issue of additional IAF sorties for airlifting of essential commodities to the affected areas of Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and Doda. In a communication to Mr. Anthony, the Chief Minister said that due to massive landslide on NH-IB between Assar and Tungral on February 6, the Air Force authorities have given good support in airlifting essentials to the affected areas. He expressed hope that the Defence Ministry will continue its support in airlifting 200 tonnes of essential supplies to the cut off region so that a buffer stock is maintained there in the coming days till the road communication will be restored.
