Online Webinar on BBBP organised at one stop centre

UDHAMPUR, Jan 24: As a part of "National Girl child Week" an Online Webinar on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme was organised today at District Hub for Empowerment of Women and One Stop Center Udhampur.
The Webinar was organised under the Guidance of District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta Udhampur who is the nodal Officer of BBBP.
The webinar highlighted the rights of the girl child and the importance of educating the girl and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for her growth. Paramjit Kaur, Specialist in financial literacy DHEW, Social Welfare Department, as the host, threw light on the celebration of 3rd day of National Girl child week with the topic - 'The importance of educating Girl child.'
Chief Resource person, Child Welfare Committee Yasmeen was the lead speaker. She explained the Child Rights, protection and promotion of skill Education among girls to spread the message of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) With the Topic: Importance of child rights.
The Resource person Stuti Abrol, General Secretary, NGO-Live for others, explained the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and a healthy environment for the socio-economic growth of Girl child.
Speaking on the Topic "Menstruation:- A Taboo in the society" she called for laying focus on to save, protect, nurture and educate the Girl Child by ensuring her proper knowledge of healthy life.
There were approx 132 participants in the webinar including students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur, GGHS, faculty members, DHEW and OSC staff members.
