Samba, Jan 24: The Department of Commerce, SPPND Govt. Degree, Samba in collaboration with NSDL organised a webinar on the topic" FINANCIAL AND SECURITIES MARKET" a Certification Programme/ Market Ka Eklavya on Financial Literacy under the patronage of Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri. Dr. Pooja, Head of the Department of Commerce formally welcomed the resource person, Mr. Milind G, trainer from NSDL.
Mr. Milind G began his presentation with the nature and kinds of investment opportunities available in the market and highlighted the importance of diversifying such investment opportunities because of the volatility in the stock market. He explained that the financial landscape is vast which encompasses primary and secondary markets and is fundamental to understanding the dynamics of trading and investment. He also stressed that the investors should be well-informed and cautious while making investment decisions. He further elucidated the meaning of the initial public offering (IPO), primary market and how do the part owners get rewarded through capital appreciation and dividends. The session was very interactive and the students responded very efficiently to the questions raised by the speakers. In this programme, more than 100 students from the Department of Commerce, Statistics and Economics joined through virtual mode and smart panel in the Smart Class Room of the College. The whole webinar was Co-ordinated under the supervision of Dr. Pooja, Prof. Rashmi kumari, Prof. Rajni Bala from the Department of Commerce, Prof. Neha Jain from the Department of Statistics, Prof. Chinky Sangral from the Department of Economics and Prof. Harpreet Kour from the Department of English. Prof. Rashmi Kumari acted as moderator in the webinar. |
