Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 25: Kavinder Gupta, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Chief Minister has impressed upon the new voters to ensure that they use their right to franchise quite intelligently to elect their representatives who would be capable of taking the nation forward to become the Vishwa Guru in the shortest period of time. He said that the new voters are new minds and the future of this nation who are capable of achieving the best nation building by being part and parcel in the nation’s progress. He said that the first step in this direction is to ensure that the votes cast by them don’t get wasted. He expressed this while addressing a gathering during a function organized to celebrate National Voters Day here today. The participants also listened to the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the National Voters Day. The senior BJP leader said that National Voters Day was celebrated the first time in 2011, across the country, to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission of India in 1950 and today it needs to be recalled that the main purpose of the day is to encourage, facilitate and make sure that all Indians eligible for voting are enrolled with special attention being given to the new voters and that they definitely make use of their ballot right. He said that the foot soldiers of BJP who are already working 24X7 among the masses at the grass roots level will be leaving no stone unturned in spreading awareness among the people about the importance of voting and participating in the electoral process of the world’s largest democracy which is today at the forefront at the global level, an achievement that has been possible with the relentless efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Govt at the Centre. Kavinder Gupta asserted that the ‘National Voters Day’ is quite significant for the BJP as it is the overwhelming support of the voters across the nation that provided the incumbent Govt to take long strides in the development and prosperity of the nation during its budding tenure of about ten years. Dedicating this day to the crores of voters of the country especially the new ones I reiterate my appeal to them to use the power of ballot quite intelligently in the larger interest of the nation and its people.
Rekha Mahajan BJP District President in her address highlighted the significance of utilizing the sacred right to vote to ensure best governance of the nation.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Narinder Koki Vice President, Pushpinder Singh Gen Secy, Rohin Chandan Secy, Bharat Bhushan Mandal President and Divya Jain.
