SAYWS only J&K society invited to offer ‘langar seva’ at Ayodhya

Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 27:

In what can be construed as a proud moment for the UT, Shree Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society (SAYWS) is the only religious organisation from J&K which has been invited by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to set up a free langar in Ayodhya.
SAYWS, which every year sets up a free langar opposite Jammu railway station here for Amarnath pilgrims, will be offering free langar services for two months to Ram Bhakts visiting the newly constructed Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya from across the globe.
The pran-prathistha of Ram Lalla was performed in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing rituals as ‘yajman’.
SAYWS has set up langar at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk near Ram Ki Poudi for the visiting devotees.
“We see this as the blessing of Shri Ram that we’ll be running this community kitchen service for two months. We have a target of providing prasad to 20,000 devotees each day,” SAYWS chairman Rajesh Gupta said.
“This opportunity has made every citizen of J&K very proud and registered our presence on the national scene,” SAYWS national president Kiran Watal said.
Wattal said it was a Ram-provided opportunity and they would make sure that ‘no one leaves the langar site unsatisfied’.
SAYWS senior vice-president Prem Sharma, general secretary Anil Gupta , vice-presidents Raman Suri & Tapan Dubey, secretary Pintooji Pandita, media coordinator Kamal Gangoo and executive members - Kuldeep Luthra, Rakash Malhotra, Ashwani Gupta, Ashwani, Kundan Lal, Ajay Bhat, M L Padroo, Avtar, Bitoo ji and Roshan Lal Pandita - have thanked all those who are helping in this noble cause and hoped that the initiative would go a long way in establishing J&K’s linkage with the holy city in coming time.
It may be mentioned that SAYWS office bearers have the distinction of offering langar services with their own expenses without any outside contribution.
