Kathua pays rich tribute to Capt Sunil Choudhary on his Martyrdom Day

KATHUA, Jan 27: In a solemn ceremony held today, the community of Kathua gathered to honor and pay a heartfelt tribute to the late Martyr Capt Sunil Choudhary on the anniversary of his supreme sacrifice.
The tribute ceremony was organised at the Capt Sunil Choudhary Chowk, where dignitaries including Deputy Commissioner Dr Rakesh Minhas, SSP, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal, Army officers, family members of the martyr and numerous prominent citizens and Ex-Servicemen assembled to offer floral tributes.
The atmosphere resonated with respect as Army personnel also extended honors in memory of the brave martyr.
Col (Retd) PL Choudhary, father of the martyr, expressed his deep emotions, stating that Capt Sunil Choudhary sacrificed his life for the nation while confronting terrorists in Assam on January 27, 2008.
Col Choudhary emphasised that his son has become a beacon of inspiration for the younger generation, and although his absence is deeply felt, his memories continue to live on.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Rakesh Minhas and Senior Superintendent Police, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal, highlighted Capt Sunil Choudhary's exemplary bravery, underscoring his role as a valiant soldier from Kathua district. They acknowledged the collective sacrifice of numerous martyrs from the region, contributing to the legacy of this land of great warriors.
The dignitaries expressed confidence that such commemorative events would instill a sense of patriotism among the youth and inspire them to actively contribute to the nation-building process.
The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by Capt Sunil Choudhary and others, fostering a spirit of unity, pride, and dedication to the nation within the community.
